This is what I used but please feel free to use what you have on hand. The jewelry components for this project are very inexpensive and can be purchased in a package that contains enough to make several pairs of earrings. It can be purchased as your local big box craft store, just look in the jewelry making section.
Cast 11 stitches on to the Hoop component using the Crochet Cast On Method
Pick up 11 stitches using DPN and knit the 12 row pattern.

Add fringe by cutting 10 lengths of yarn approximately each 14 inches long. Fold the yarn onto itself then take that doubled yarn and make a loop, attach it to the bottom of the knitted fabric with the crochet hook.
Attach the ear wire to the opening on the top of the hoop component. Using the small pliers gently twist the ear wire loop open. Then slide the hoop component on and gently twist the loop close by returning it to its original position.
Trim the fringe to the desired length and steam press to finish.
Now go make another and enjoy your new wardrobe accessory!
