Meet Lizzie: The French Bulldog 

There’s a new pup on my art table, and her name is Lizzie.

She’s a French Bulldog with big ears, bigger personality, and an irresistible charm that made her the perfect subject for my latest pet portrait. Lizzie belongs to my niece’s family, and painting her was such a treat.

Frenchies have that squishable face and sassy sparkle that practically begs to be captured on paper. Lizzie was no exception, she was a joy to bring to life on the page.

This portrait marks the start of something new for me: a series of Dog Breed Portraits! I’ve decided to celebrate our beloved canine companions in all their glorious variety—starting with Lizzie and continuing with breeds big and small, shaggy and sleek, scrappy and sophisticated.
