It always seems to be flowers

You just never know what it going to show up when you just play with paint.  I love abstracts but have not painted many.  After watching Dionne of the Turquoise Iris paint a large canvas,  I was inspired and pulled out an 18 x 24 canvas and started putting paint on it. I had no plan, just went with what I was feeling.

First I pulled out several tubes of acrylic paint in colors that felt right. After squeezing paint directly from the tube onto the canvas, I took a paint brush and started combining.  This is what it ended up looking like so I left it overnight to dry.

The next day I decided to pull out some new colors and a palette knife. I added some charcoal and lots of layers.  This is what it ended up looking like!

I really enjoyed creating this and have already started another one!  It is so liberating creating just for the pure joy of it.

If you would like to give this a try, grab whatever art supplies you have, no need to buy anything. Grab some  paper, a notebook, watercolor paper, canvas, even a paper bag then gather any art supplies you have on hand, pencils, crayons, paint, watercolor, markers, pastels, pens, whatever you have.  Then start playing and on't overthink it, just make shapes or smears of paint and keep layering!  You just might surprise yourself by what you create!
