Did you say you like the color pink?

I have never thought of myself as a Pink Girl but I think I am going to need to own it.

In the late 1960's, when I was 5 or 6 years old, we moved to a new to us home.  I remember my bedroom was the first door on the left going down the hall. It wasn't a big bedroom but my mom told me I could decide on the color I wanted it to be. I choose pink and I mean PINK!  Hot pink shag carpet with a lighter shade of pink on the walls, a white bed frame and dresser with gold trim and hardware.  That bedroom set I used throughout my childhood but I didn't continue with the pink walls and flooring as I grew up.  I have come to realize though that color choice of my childhood has stayed with me.

Fast forward to a wedding on October 5, 1991. My future husband, Mark and his groomsmen were lined up at the front of the church wearing black tuxedos with white shirts.  Behind there were large vases of pink floral stems and greenery.  The bridesmaid came down the aisle in matching satin knee length dresses in a soft shade of, you guessed it, pink!

Maybe it is because my favorite flower is the peony and a close second are surprise lilies which both are various shades of pink. Who knows, but as I have started painting, pink is by far the color I am drawn to. I try and mix it up a bit but if I just sit down with no plan, you can bet I am going to grab all the tubes of pink or colors I can make into shades of pink.

This has become very apparent as I look over my latest collection which will be available soon.  It is not all pinks but there is quite a bit!
