Truly Thankful

Truly Thankful

As Thanksgiving here in the United States approaches, it makes me really stop and reflect on how truly thankful I am.  There are times during the year where I get overwhelmed by the all the love and support that you show me in the shop.  When a marker set is received extremely well or a special edition set sells out quickly, those times are very special and I am so grateful.  But.....

Above all of that, I am truly thankful from the bottom of my heart for the conversations and friendships that have come from this fiber community. I spent 30 years surrounded by people all day in my previous work.  Being an introvert, in order to recharge, I would turn to my creative pursuits.  Now being able to make my art all day, every day, I am isolated, except my family and it has taken an adjustment.

This online and off-line community has given me such wonderful connections and new friendships all over the world!   It is interesting to feel that you "know" people who you have never even been able to see face to face in real life.  When you are lucky enough to be in the same room with them, it is like you are seeing old friends!   Such a blessing!  From customers, to local yarn shop owners to people who just follow along on social media, it is such an amazing experience!

In the world today, there is so much division and judgement.  I do not care to participate in that and do my best to stay away from it.  So I want to tell all of you that no matter what your background, your skin color, your hair color, your gender, your political views, your sexuality, your clothing, your lifestyle, your age, your religion, your spirituality, your yarn choice, or if you knit or crochet or don't do either, I am truly thankful for all of you!

Thank you for being a part of my world.

This is the good side of the age of electronic media! :-) (I can hardly wait to start my Advent set!)
